East Harlem Good Friday Procession with the Holy Black Nazarene

On Good Friday, April 19, 2019 from 12 Noon to 2 PM, there will be a Procession on Third Avenue between 96th Street and 117th Street. The Parishes of East Harlem will gather and bring their various statues of the Passion of Our Lord and Our Lady of Sorrows. For the third year, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church will bring the statue of the Holy Black Nazarene (Quiapo, Philippines). The starting point of the Procession is St. Francis de Sales Church (east 96th Street and Lexington Avenue) and the end point of the Procession is St. Paul-Holy Rosary Church (east 117th Street and Lexington Avenue)
Good Friday, April 19
8 AM – Church Opens; Adoration at the Altar of Repose
9 AM – Tenebrae – Morning Prayer – (English)
10 AM – Departure of the Holy Black Nazarene to the Good Friday Procession
12 PM – 2 PM
East Harlem Good Friday Procession on 3rd Ave from 96th Street to 117th Street
3 PM – Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion
7:30 PM – Stations of the Cross, Our Lady of Sorrows devotion
