Hellooo,
I’m Allyson Rae, a 25-yr-old incoming grad student at CUNY Grad School of Journalism, and originally from a small CA suburb town / near Los Angeles. I am moving to NYC for the first time in August and am really, really in need of housing. I’ve been scouring the internet/random FB groups, as well as CatholicNYC, and am still no closer in my search.
My only preferences are Catholic, preferably young/20-something females, chill and affordable (< $1,000 rent, if possible) in a safe neighborhood. (being not at all from NY, I’m trusting your judgment on this, haha)
The areas I am looking at are fairly commutable to Midtown (East Harlem, Washington Heights, Inwood, Astoria, Woodside, etc).
A little about myself: I’m Filipina, an only child, freelance writer and active Catholic in LA/Orange County/San Bernardino’s young adult scene. I write for several Catholic newspapers here in CA. I’m in a long-distance relationship. I love dogs (though I won’t have one with me), music, ice cream, good conversation, exploring neighborhoods, and books. I also LOVE the Sisters of Life.
I am looking for an available room for mid-August / early September. Since I am in school pretty much full-time (I also have a part-time remote/work from home job to hold me afloat), I’m looking to stay month to month somewhere, as long-term as possible, so I don’t have to worry.
Please PM/email me if you know of anyone looking for to rent or sublet, have an available space, or any useful information 🙂 Thanks everyone, I really appreciate you taking the time to read this, and I look forward to meeting many of you in the city’s vibrant YA scene. I also humbly ask for your prayers in my ongoing room search. God bless!
