Primary Responsibility: Oversee institutional giving for education related initiatives in the Archdiocese of New York including the Catholic Education Advancement Office, Inner-City Scholarship Fund, and other programs.
Direct Supervisor: Executive Director, Catholic Education Advancement
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement an annual corporate and foundation fundraising plan and meet goals
- Develop proposals, reports, renewal requests, updates, acknowledgements, and other required documents
- Identify new corporate and foundation prospects and look for opportunities for increased funding from existing donors
- Manage and conduct stewardship efforts by mail, telephone, and in person, as required in order to cultivate corporate and foundation support
- Establish relationships with internal contacts in Department of Education, Finance, and Regional Boards
- Regularly update a development calendar to schedule submissions of grant requests, renewal requests and reports
- Assure that interim, final reports, and other relevant materials for current foundation and corporate donors are sent in timely fashion
- Prepare select correspondence for Executive Director and Cardinal Dolan
- Oversee duties of the Institutional Support Manager and Prospect Researcher
- Special projects as needed
Position Requirements:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience: Three years of writing experience with proven grant writing, press material and samples
- Must possess superior communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of Internet and standard research
- Knowledge of Raisers’ Edge and PowerPoint

- Identify at least 10 new prospective corporate and foundation funding sources a month
