Internship in Management and Development
The Sheen Center for Thought and Culture, now in its third season as a downtown arts center, has an opportunity for a three to four month internship in the area of arts management. This position will start in September and require a commitment of 20-24 hours per week. The selected candidate will work in a fast paced environment and gain experience in general management and the specific areas of artist contracts, event budgets, financial record keeping, licensing, and HR. From time to time, work assignments that support our development department will also be a part of this internship. The management intern will report directly to the managing director of the Sheen Center.
We are looking for someone who loves to work hard, is hungy for hands on experience and knowledge and who wants to be a future leader in the arts. A sense of humor and strong emotional intelligence is appreciated.
The Sheen Center for Thought and Culture, a project of the Archdioces of New York, programs across the genres of theater, music, talks and film. All programming is curated and our mission of presenting works that shed light on ‘the good’, ‘the true’ and ‘the beautiful’ is a driving force in our curation process. The Sheen Center has two theaters, an art gallery, four rehearsal rooms and a recording studio.
