To be considered for this position, any candidate should have the following qualifications:
B.S. in computer related studies or equivalent work experience.
CCNA, MCSA, MCSE, LPIC, RHCE certifications are desirable.
5 years relevant experience working in a corporate IT environment.
Thorough understanding of the issues involved in administering and maintaining networked
servers, workstations and supporting systems in a globally distributed network.
Hands-on experience in the following areas:
o Configuring and troubleshooting enterprise systems including Virtualization, Firewalls,
VPN, Routers, Switches, Servers, Storage Systems, RAID, Backups, UPS, IP Phones.
o Installing, configuring and troubleshooting Linux/Windows server operating systems in a
global environment.
o Engineering/Administration of Linux (LAMP) and Windows web/database servers in high
performance server farms.
o Maintaining global windows domain (AD) and exchange environment.
o Installing, configuring and troubleshooting server applications including DHCP, DNS,
Active Directory, Remote Desktop, Terminal servers, Mobile Device Management,
WSUS/Patch Manager, Exchange Server.
o Working knowledge of thin client or VDI.
o Installing, configuring and troubleshooting office productivity applications such as the
MSOffice and Adobe suites.
o Endpoint protection (e.g. Symantec Endpoint Protection).
o PowerShell scripting and Linux automation.
Highly developed customer service skills.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Team player who can work under minimal supervision.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
o Good documentation skills required, including network documentation.
o Able to clearly articulate ideas and thoughts verbally.
Responsibilities:
Lead New York office and data center support efforts.
Maintain desktop and thin client images and application sets.
Maintain multiple terminal server systems worldwide and associated thin client workstations.
Participate in day-to-day enterprise systems operations and support.
Administration and maintenance of the IP telephone system.
Support corporate applications, servers and user desktops.
Install and configure computer hardware, software and network equipment.
Answer support calls/emails through our central ticket system.
Be available after hours while coordinating with other technicians worldwide.
Assist in the administration and management of our central ticket system.
Assist with asset management, purchase of software licenses, hardware and network equipment.
