FINANCE OFFICE
GENERAL ACCOUNTANT
PURPOSE
To assist the controller in fulfilling the daily, monthly and annual financial operation of those organizations for which the Finance Office is responsible.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement improved methods for processing receipts and disbursements and recording financial transactions.
Assure that accurate and timely information is available to the Director of Financial Operations.
Review and enter wires and ACH collections and payments into Bank on-line system.
Maintain General Ledger for 5 Agencies
Assist the Controller with account analysis and other help as needed.
Assure that policies, practices, methods and procedures conform to the professional standards and to the mission and ethical values of the Archdiocese.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Assure that the major functions of the Office (e.g. Payroll, Cash Receipts, Cash Disbursements) conform to the schedules established for them.
Assure that cash receipts and accounts payable transactions are processed within twenty-four hours of receipt.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Education Preferred: Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience Preferred: 5 to 6 years of diversified accounting or finance including 2 to 3 years of Management; thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; with special emphasis on Word and Excel; extensive knowledge of computer based accounting and payroll systems including Lawson reporting enterprise and Crystal reporting.
