Mr. Blue
April 21, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - April 22, 2015 @ 2:00 pm EDT
FreeA reading of the play based on the book by Myles Connolly.
In New York in the Jazz Age of the 1920s, Mr. Blue is a modern St. Francis living his faith dramatically while discovering his mission to serve the poor. Blue lives in a packing crate on top of a skyscraper in downtown Manhattan, flies a box kite and balloons, believes “anything’s possible,” becomes a millionaire, throws his money away, and changes everybody he meets along the way. Blue has a message for everyone and, as a prophet, envisions what life would be like in our times, especially for youth. “Mr. Blue” is a joyful antidote to the lifestyle of the Great Gatsby of the Roaring Twenties and today.
