Join us for another exciting Theology on Tap in the spring 2017 season!

C. C. Pecknold earned his PhD from the University of Cambridge (UK) and since 2008 he has been a Professor of Historical & Systematic Theology in the School of Theology at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He teaches in the areas of fundamental theology, Christian anthropology, and political theology, with a particular interest in St. Augustine’s City of God. Pecknold is the author of a number scholarly articles and books including, “Christianity and Politics: A Brief Guide to the History” and “The T&T Clark Companion to Augustine and Modern Theology.” Dr. Pecknold also writes regular columns for First Things & National Review. He is currently writing a book called “Augustine’s City: The Church and Western Political Order.” He joins us to talk about what tools Christians have for engaging the broader culture and what Augustine’s “City of God” can teach us today.
