Manager, School Relations, Inner-City Scholarship Fund
Primary Responsibility: The Manager of Scholarship Programs coordinates all the programming needs of financial aid and scholarships for Inner-City Scholarship Fund. The Manager of Scholarship Programs is the primary contact for schools, parents and students for all programming needs, events and activities.
Direct Supervisor: Associate Director of Scholarship Operations
Responsibilities:
Donor Relations
- Schedule and attend sponsor visits to schools
- Communicate with schools regarding fulfillment of special sponsor requests
Events
- Communicate with schools, students and families regarding all event-related needs
- Work with schools to identify student talent
- Review and edit student speeches
- Provide photos, video, media coverage of events to schools
- Manage logistics for students and school personnel including travel, food, lodging
Programming
- Build database of student performers
- Create inventory of student stories for marketing and fundraising appeals
- Liaise with school principals and high school guidance counselors
- Organize events and develop correspondence to increase awareness of Inner-City Scholarship Fund to elementary and high school students
- Presentations to high schools about Inner-City
- Coordinate application help nights
- Create FAQ sheet for rising 9th graders with high school scholarship information
- Create end-of-year event celebrating the accomplishments of graduating 12th grade Inner-City award recipients
Be A Student’s Friend and Endowed Scholars Programs
- Liaise with schools, scholarship team and donors to coordinate selection of new students
- Prepare needed print materials for donors
- Coordinate annual student/sponsor event
- Support marketing team on scholars program annual reports
Academic Probation
- Maintain a probation database for sponsored students
- Enforce Inner-City’s academic and behavior policies. Meet with students and schools in response to probation, keeping records of these matters and sending out letters regarding these issues.
Performance Standards:
- Maintains open and professional communication with school administrators, families, students and other stakeholders
- Accurately tracks and monitors student eligibility
- Uses effective judgment and conduct in performing responsibilities
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Knowledge of personal computers including Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Intelligent, articulate and highly motivated self-starter with excellent inter-personal skills
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented and strong work ethic
