Associate Director of Financial Assistance Operations
Overview: The Financial Assistance Processing Team, which is part of the Office of Enrollment Management, provides financial assistance to eligible families to attend Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of New York, which serves approximately 100 schools within Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, and the Upper Counties.
Direct Supervisor: Director of Enrollment Management
Responsibilities:
- Work with IT staff/vendors in the development and improvement/automation for scholarship/financial aid
- Manage the scholarship and financial assistance processing staff
- Ensure vendor accurately processes scholarship/financial aid applications by reviewing multiple databases
- Maintain knowledge of internal scholarship/financial aid guidelines and procedures to evaluate and determine student eligibility
- Continue to develop and manage operational process and procedures to allow for timely, efficient and accurate awarding
- Maintain financial assistance budget and projections, providing reporting updates to Direct Supervisor as needed
- Create and maintain data dashboards
- Coordinate and award scholarship/financial aid to eligible recipients
- Assist other Financial Assistance Processing Team members with coordination of programmatic efforts
- Assist in communicating with families regarding applications and awards
- Answer calls and emails regarding scholarship awards
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business or financial services
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Experience with systems development efforts a plus
- Strong computer skills: proficiency using Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
- Knowledge of workflow processes, audit trails and back office financial services a plus
- Proficiency using databases and information management systems
