Inner-City Scholarship Fund changes lives for the better by providing families with financial needs the opportunity to give their children a quality, values-based K-12 Catholic education within the Archdiocese of New York. Inner-City exists to ensure that the gift of an excellent Catholic school education continues to be a viable option for students of all faiths today and for future generations to come.
Primary Responsibility: The Associate Director of Scholarship Operations administers and promotes Inner-City Scholarship Fund’s scholarship programs and serves as liaison to Catholic Education Advancement departments and recipient schools.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operation of Inner-City Scholarship Fund’s scholarship department
- Supervise the processing and awarding of all applications
- Ensure the integrity of the data in the scholarship database through routine analysis
- Prepare regular status reports on applications and awards
- Collaborate with fundraising and finance teams for budgeting, allocation and disbursement of scholarship funds
- Plan, evaluate and set annual operational goals for the scholarship area
- Ensure families and students adhere to all scholarship program requirements
- Manage relationships with vendors for automated application process
- Attend fundraising events as required
- Train, evaluate and supervise staff
- Other projects as needed
Performance Standards:
- Meet project deadlines for scholarship application and awarding
- Adhere to annual budget for allocation and disbursement of funds
- Ensure that management is informed of application and awarding progress on a timely basis and advised of any variances
- Ability to manage multiple scholarship programs and due dates
Position Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience: minimum of three years experience in scholarship administration
- Experience in managing staff
Personal Characteristics:
- Ability to relate effectively with upper management, subordinates, colleagues
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to carry out multiple and diverse tasks concurrently and work independently
