Overview:
The Archdiocese of New York encompasses 295 parishes in the greater New York area. The Chancery Office is responsible for the administration of the archdiocese and is seeking an operations associate to assist with the development and implementation of a mission and evangelization program for all 295 parishes, the development and implementation of an archdiocesan adult faith formation institute, and the planning and execution of several archdiocesan events. Ideal candidates possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment. While the position reports to the vice chancellor, s/he will also be managed by the director of the Office of Adult Faith Formation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the directors in achieving the goals and objectives of the Office
- Administer archdiocesan special programs (e.g. Archdiocese of New York/Villanova Partnership)
- Oversee the production of creative/published materials
- Manage logistics needs including receptionist duties
- Assist in preparation and implementation of mass mailings
- Create and maintain database of lay leaders throughout the diocese
- Manage chancery special events and projects
- Draft correspondence as needed
Performance Standards:
- Ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the department
- Ensure the timely completion and accuracy of assigned projects
- Prepare well written and articulate correspondence
- Proactively manage the chancery calendar of events and projects
- Efficiently complete all assigned projects in a timely fashion
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills
- Ability to independently carry out multiple and diverse tasks concurrently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of basic website editing
- Ability to take on added responsibility as it is presented
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
