Contemplative Tuesday featuring PIETÀ by Christopher Alles

The Pietà is one of the most poignant expressions of great love and deep sorrow in art. The Virgin May cradling the body of her crucified son Jesus has been a subject for many artists over the centuries. Started during the COVID-19 lockdown, former Sheen Center artist-in-residence Christopher Alles tackled this subject – a repeated theme in his work – in a powerful new sculpture that is approaching completion.
