Talk 3: Inside the Box: The Essential Dynamics of the Sacrament of Confession
We all know what it is “like” to go to Confession. But what is actually happening within our souls during the Sacrament, and how does the Sacrament work to restore us to a state of grace and heal our souls from the effects of sin? In this talk, we’ll look closely at the three essential things that every penitent brings to Confession, the work of the priest in imparting absolution, and the two different healing effects of Confession. We will also cover how to make a healthy and thorough examination of conscience in a way that opens up avenues for real growth in the spiritual life.
