Making Room for God’s Love: Humanae vitae at 50

The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist is hosting an all day conference in honor of the 50th anniversary of Humanae vitae on June 23rd, 2018. Humanae vitae (On the Regulation of Birth) is an Encyclical Letter which was written by Blessed Pope Paul VI in 1968 to address the question of whether or not the hormonal birth control pill was an acceptable option for the regulation of childbirth. Speakers for the conference include Mary Eberstadt (Author of “Adam and Eve After the Pill”), Mary FioRito, and George Weigel and a panel of medical experts. The 4PM Vigil Mass following the conference will be offered by Bishop Frank Caggiano of the Diocese of Bridgeport.
