The Dominican friars at the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer will celebrate a Solemn High Dominican Rite Mass in honor of the traditional feast day of St. Dominic on Friday, August 4, at 7 p.m. Father Gregory Pine, O.P., author of “Prudence,” and known from Aquinas 101, Pints with Aquinas, and the “Godsplaining” podcast, will preach the Mass from the high pulpit. The Schola Cantorum will sing the “Missa Cantate” by John Sheppard.

From August 2, the Memorial of Bl. Jane Aza (the mother of St. Dominic), to August 8, the Solemnity of St. Dominic, relics of St. Dominic will be displayed for veneration by the Rosary Altar at the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer.

This Mass is part of the parish’s weekly celebration of the Dominican Rite Mass at the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer, usually on Saturday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Once a month, a Solemn High Mass in the Dominican Rite is offered on a particular feast day or other special occasion
