As a Basilica, we observe with special care a number of feasts: one of them is the Feast of the Chair of St. Peter, Apostle. This year, to celebrate our bicentennial, the Schola will sing a Renaissance Vespers using the liturgy from the 1962 Missal. The music dates from approximately 200 years before the Basilica was founded; composers include Viadana, Anerio, and other great innovators who enriched the Church with artistic output fitting the reforms of the Council of Trent. The Schola will be supported by continuous played on organ and thereby, making for a unique and gorgeous sound. (It is free).
