5: SO WHAT?:  A good opportunity to discover the balance and rhythm of the 1600 year old contemplative Benedictine monastic life.   Please put up the poster, tap people on the shoulder!

6: WHAT DOES ST MARY’S OFFER?:

– a full monastic office in Latin Gregorian chant seven times per day with English  readings, all according to the revised post Vatican II liturgical books

– within the context of two separate Benedictine communities (monks and nuns) with a shared liturgy

7: WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?:

You may not be single, male or 18-40, but receiving this email does mean you are serving the Church in some real, demanding and often hidden way.  And that sort of service has many joys, but it is also not without its bruising elements. So if you and your team need a break (or your team needs a break from you!) a Benedictine monastery is a good place to come. To find the time and space to disconnect from social media, and  to reconnect to God. To stop swiping with the fingers and start listening again, listening with the heart.

Outside of the MEW dates,  accommodation here in our guest house for men and women in 18 single rooms, with no fixed charge but donations welcome.
