This annual gala event honors special individuals whose lives embody the mission of the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, NY. Each year, honorees are recognized for their dedication to the congregation’s ideals and values, exemplifying true “sparks of light” in our world. The 2016 honorees are:

Sister Margaret Theresa Oettinger, OP ~ Director of Spiritual Care, Hospital for Special Surgery

Dominican Sisters of Sparkill live and minister throughout the US and abroad in Pakistan. The Sisters’ ministries span a variety of fields, from education to health care, social services, senior housing and more. The funds raised at the Sparks of Light celebration support the Sisters in being able to continue providing compassionate service to others as they live out our mission to be “joyful women of prayer and compassion who proclaim the reign of God through ministry for justice and reverence for all creation.”
