Prospect Research Senior Manager
Primary Responsibility: The Prospect Research Senior Manager will support the archdiocese fundraising program by leading prospect research, prospect management, and moves management for the office. The Senior Manager works closely with the Interim Director of Operations and the Director of Donor Relations to assist in creating the solicitation strategies for high-level prospects and renewing donors. The Senior Manager oversees one Prospect Research Associate and assists in preparing in-depth briefings and confidential research profiles on individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Professional Level: 5 to 7 years of prospect research, with strong technical and analytical skills and proficient in use of technology, and excellent interpersonal organization and communications skills – both oral and written
Direct Supervisor: Interim Director of Operations
Reporting to the Interim Director of Operations for the archdiocese, the Prospect Research Senior Manager will be an experienced prospect researcher who also possesses strong management and communication skills. The Senior Manager will oversee all prospect research within the development department and will guide the staff in research best practices throughout the division. The successful candidate will be an individual with strong leadership, research capabilities and managerial skills, and who has a deep background in nonprofit prospect research for fundraising.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes donor trends, behavior, and profiles to identify best prospects for upgrades and renewals.
- Identifies prospects and strategies for donor acquisition and proactively culls the donor database in order to surface the most promising prospects.
- Analyzes and synthesizes accumulated information to assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity and connections to the archdiocese.
- Evaluates research results to develop and implement further research strategies to assist gift officers with the development of cultivation and solicitation plans.
- Serves as the primary manager of the Donor Relations office’s prospect rating system and database entries to ensure that they are current and properly coded.
- Develops a collaborative partnership with principal gifts managers and development staff to ensure that fundraisers are working with the most financially capable donors.
- Plans and facilitates prospect review meetings, supports development officer portfolio review, updates prospect ratings, and reviews and improves internal prospect tracking procedures.
- Collaborates with Donor Relations staff to develop a high-quality moves management program that encompasses prospect cultivation, solicitation and stewardship and provides oversight and management of prospects in cycles.
- Coordinates research to ensure current biographical information is provided to Development staff attending events.
- Creates and maintains policies and procedures supporting best practices, ethical and professional research standards, leveraging technology, data integrity and data security.
- Manages 1-2 staff members and works closely with the Executive Office and Donor Relations.
Standards of Performance:
- Identifies and recommends 10-15 names a month of newly found prospects
- Develops, prioritizes and sequences the $10,000+ prospect list
- Generates prospect lists for Board review once a year
- Prepares a monthly activity summary report containing new activity entries in the database and prospect status reports
- Oversees wealth screening projects
- Oversees foundation outreach effort
Position Requirements:
- 5 to 7 years of prospect research, with strong technical and analytical skills and proficient in use of technology

Planned Giving Associate
Primary Responsibility: The Planned Giving Associate will act as a general assistant to the Gift Planning Division by performing many non-routine office functions in the coordination of all planned gifts for the Archdiocese of New York, Catholic Education Advancement, and Inner-City Scholarship Fund.
Professional Level: Minimum of four years of experience in a position which required demonstration of administrative and organizational skills. Related para-legal course work/degree may be considered in lieu of some of the experience requirement.
Direct Supervisor: Planned Giving Senior Manager
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Gift Planning Senior Manager in carrying out the office operation responsibilities.
- Assist in preparing estate planning marketing materials including multi-channel means of reaching potential donors: includes print, email, website, presentations. Coordinate with outside vendors.
- Coordinate and maintain directory of allied professionals—estate planning attorneys, financial advisors, accountants, insurance executives for marketing and referrals for Planned Giving prospects. Coordinate periodic meeting with allied professionals and Archdiocese.
- Responsible for the coordination/completion and the quality of clerical work for Planned Giving that includes word processing, Raiser’s Edge database upkeep, processing mail, scanning/photocopying, expense report accounting, correspondence, and maintaining donor files.
- Responsible for scheduling cultivation and solicitation appointments for meetings, luncheons, and dinners for senior development staff.
- Respond to formal and informal requests for information regarding deferred/planned gifts from donors and community members.
- Compile and logically format statistical data and reports of planned gifts, pledges and payments or distributions received.
- Maintain a comprehensive tracking system for all planned gift donors and prospects, oversee the generation of monthly reports.
- Organizes estate planning seminars and volunteers needed to assist with preparation and delivery of the seminars, events and programs.
- Ensure that planned gift records and reports are compiled and maintained
- Coordinate Legacy Society, committee meetings, and other event planning.
- Maintains confidentiality of donor information.
- Special projects as needed.

Associate Superintendent for Curriculum and Staff Development
This position reports to the Superintendent of Schools and provides leadership regarding curriculum in the Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of New York, and the professional development of Catholic School teachers.
The primary responsibilities of this job include:
Curriculum and Instruction:
- Administers the organizational plan for curriculum, instruction and assessment.
- Monitors NYSED, ITBS, and Interim Assessment programs, interprets and reports results and their implication for curriculum change and professional development.
- Coordinates the collection of assessment data and subsequent training for principals in order to use data effectively for continuous improvement of student achievement. (i.e. Data Day, mini-data days)
- Understands and implements state laws and local regulations pertaining to curriculum and instruction.
- Supervises the development, organization, and delivery of all curricular and instructional programs and services to ensure they are based on best practices and aligned with state standards and assessments.
- Coordinates the ongoing implementation and revision of the Archdiocesan Essential Learnings and Common Core Learning Standards for elementary schools.
Staff Development:
- Supervises the development, organization, and delivery of teacher staff development, including: in-service-for-credit workshops, regular in-service programs and activities, and curriculum implementation.
- Serves as a resource to the Superintendent of Schools and other members of the central office staff on matters related to educational and instructional philosophy, programs and policies.
- Responds to curriculum questions/needs/concerns from principals, teachers and pastors as requested.
- Maintains professional contact with curriculum personnel in the surrounding dioceses (member of the Inter-diocesan Curriculum Committee), local Regional Information Center (RIC) and New York City and State Education Departments.

- Oversees the AdvancEd accreditation process based on a five-year cycle.
- Oversees a staff consisting of: director of math instruction, blended learning coordinator, curriculum and assessment associate, and seven instructional specialists.
Liaison with:
- The Associate Superintendent for Public Policy and Student Services regarding funding for teacher professional development.
- The Associate Superintendent for Mission Effectiveness regarding the integration of Catholic values into the curriculum.
- The Associate Superintendent for Leadership regarding the professional needs of principals as instructional leaders to support the role of teachers.
- Educational vendors regarding curriculum, instruction and assessment needs of teachers.
Qualifications:
Minimal Master’s Degree in Education
