JOB GOAL:
The Director of Enrollment will work collaboratively with the Office of the Superintendent and the principal and staff at the regional elementary schools in their region to increase school enrollment by helping to recruit and retain students.
As an ambassador for the outstanding elementary school programs of the Archdiocese of New York and their region, the Director of Enrollment will help empower parents to choose a Catholic education. She/he will introduce families to the benefits of Catholic elementary education and provide the tools for them to make an informed decision about the education path for their children.
REPORTS TO: Director of Enrollment Management and Financial Assistance
PRIMARY DUTIES:
The Director of Enrollment will serve as a member of the team that develops the enrollment goals and the lead cultivation and conversion strategies for student recruitment and engagement strategies for student retention that will result in meeting those stated goals. This role is responsible for helping generate leads for prospective applicants and converting them to applicants and then enrolled students. The Director of Enrollment is responsible for helping school leadership to encourage student retention via various family engagement and follow-up activities.
The Director of Enrollment will support school staff in implementing general ADNY and school/regional specific programs and activities to recruit and retain students.
- The Director of Enrollment will recruit prospective students by conducting open houses, mall intercepts, phone call campaigns, and community outreach events in selected territory, new family/accepted students’ receptions; cultivate selected territory by developing relationships with parish pastors, community based organization directors, and by increasing application and deposit activity; provide regular territory analysis and feedback.
- She/he will provide support to the schools to optimize their family engagement opportunities.
The Director of Enrollment will work to identify, plan and coordinate, community outreach opportunities to increase visibility and promote the Regional schools to prospective families, driving applications and enrollment. The Director of Enrollment is responsible for the planning and implementation of audience-specific programs that will generate interest and demand for the local Regional schools. This individual will be responsible for executing, tracking, and reporting on these plans with an expectation of continued assessment to improve results and conversions.
The Director of Enrollment will be responsible for ongoing phone and email contact with families at each stage of the enrollment process. Phone and email campaigns will include encouraging prospective applicants from a variety of pools to submit an application, following up with accepted students to help them enroll, and engaging with current families to help retain their students.
This individual will develop in-depth knowledge about the Regional schools, their academic and extracurricular programs, as well as financial assistance and scholarship opportunities, and articulate these programs in a manner consistent with Archdiocesan standards, to prospective and current students, their families, and the community.
Working with the Director of Digital and Social Media Marketing, the individual will help develop and drive the implementation of a school level social media strategy consistent with the overall ADNY recruitment and communication strategy. The Director of Enrollment will also help in the development of the materials used for recruitment and retention.
The position involves use and analysis of data and systems related to recruitment and retention. She/he will maintain a database of prospective students; and provide information and responses to requests regarding admissions procedures, financial aid and scholarship.
The Director of Enrollment will aid in further development and ongoing improvements to the Admissions and Financial Assistance systems.
Responsibilities also include correspondence with students, alumni, pastors, and principals; attendance at local community fairs, and hosting information sessions for students and their families.
The Director of Enrollment will perform other duties as required to meet organizational needs and goals for recruitment and retention.
Qualifications:
- A commitment to the mission of Catholic elementary education, vision and core values is required.

- A bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

Job Description
The Archdiocese of New York has reorganized 91 of its elementary schools into a Global Regional School System (GRSS), with nine geographic school regions. Each one has a local, centralized business office that supports 9-15 schools. The entire GRSS is supported by the Global Regional School System Treasury Operations, which is responsible for the collection, processing, recording, transfer, outflow and reporting of all funds within the regional school system. The GRSS Finance and Accounting Services team works closely with school principals to provide direct financial administrative support.
Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Administrative Support Staff will work closely with the Accounting Coordinators to ensure proper workflow and organization at the regional offices.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Administrative Support Staff will assist the Accounting Coordinators and Accounting Supervisor with administrative tasks, including:
- Assist the Accounting Coordinators in processing invoices and consolidated bills, and maintain accounts payable files.
- Assist the Accounting Coordinators with recording deposits of funds and reconciling school-level bank accounts that are not electronically interfaced with GRSS Treasury Operations.
- Assist with reconciling credit card transactions.
- Assist the Accounting Coordinators with the input of payroll data, including tracking of sick time and all payroll functions.
- Copy, scan, file and upload supporting documentation to SharePoint and the shared drives.
- Follow-up with the schools and/or vendors for any missing supporting documentation.
- Complete and assist in other tasks as directed by the Accounting Supervisor.

Position Purpose
Reporting to the Rector of Saint Joseph’s Seminary, the Director of Assessment and Accreditation (DAA) is a full-time administrative position who serves overseeing the institutional and programmatic assessment of the Seminary. The Director monitors the seminary’s adherence to the institutional and educational standards of the agencies for accreditation, and is the primary liaison with each agency.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Maintain contact with and reports to the Association of Theological Schools, Middle States Commission on Higher Education, New York State Education Department, Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, and the Congregation of Catholic Education for the Holy See.
- Represent the seminary at meetings and conferences of the various assessment agencies and participate in training programs on assessment and accreditation issues.
- Maintain and update as needed the seminary’s Strategic Plan and future plans for the assessment of student outcomes in all degree programs.
- Draw up, at the beginning of each year, a schedule of responsibilities and timelines for all assessment activities of that year, and for the implementation of the seminary’s strategic plan by overseeing its steering committee.
- Assist the rector in the coordination of institutional assessment with the Board of Trustees.
- Communicate the requirements of the assessment process to the Board of Trustees and to all persons directly involved in it, and monitor compliance with the requirements.
- Assemble, manage, and store assessment data as these are available, subject to the terms of the seminary’s policy on such files, and producing such data for accreditation agencies.
- Gather, communicate, and interpret the results of assessment at all levels of the institution; also communicates with all external constituencies bearing an interest in assessment.
- Ascertain annual budgetary needs for assessment activities and coordinate these needs with the rector and the seminary’s director of finance.
- Assure that assessment data is made available to any future process of program improvement at the seminary that may require it.
- Lead institutional research efforts, including improving existing data collection strategies and developing new approaches and procedures for the collection and analysis of institutional data and the distribution of research reports to external agencies and internal constituencies, including the Board of Trustees.
- Create and monitor all surveys conducted by the Seminary.
- Oversee the research, compilation, verification and analysis of statistical data on the Seminary.
- Design, lead and oversee the execution of grant proposals based on the the needs, priorities, and competencies of the Seminary’s faculty and staff. Efforts range from finding grant sources and informing appropriate individuals; assisting with and overseeing the development and writing processes; and assisting with final grant production, presentation, and achievement.
- Knowledge of compliance related matters, e.g. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).
Required Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Educational Assessment, Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, Measurement, or, Social Sciences required. M.A. degree in higher Education or related discipline preferred.
- Three (3) years of educational research and assessment experience in a higher education setting, and conducting survey research and reporting using quantitative and qualitative methods.
- Two (2) years of experience in higher education student learning outcome assessment and assistance to institutional accreditation activities.
- Demonstrated experience with student learning management systems, e.g. Populi.
- Familiarity with government and accreditation agencies’ expectations in preparation for school visitations, e.g., the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).

CARDINAL’S ANNUAL STEWARDSHIP APPEAL
The Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal (CASA) is the primary vehicle through which many of the Church’s charitable, educational, and pastoral activities are funded in the Archdiocese. Begun in 1979, the Appeal now raises about $20 million on an annual basis and sustains a broad spectrum of life-changing ministries.
Among its priorities this year are:
- Assistance for Needy Parishes – Ensures that parishes can keep providing a faith home to tens of thousands of Catholics. CASA provides operational support and emergency assistance to those parishes in need of financial aid.
- Pastoral and Administrative Support – CASA provides funds to train and provide nearly 1,000 staff who help with church management.
- Funding for Parish Schools – Funding is provided for 128 elementary schools in the Archdiocese that are part of or located at parishes.
- Formation of New Parish Priests – Contributions allow young men to attend Saint Joseph’s Seminary.
- A Home for Retired Parish Priests – CASA funding provides for retired pastors at the Saint John Vianney Clergy Residence, including intensive treatment for those requiring an enhanced care unit.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, the Director of the Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal will design, develop and implement an aggressive annual fundraising program to grow the Appeal to $25 million over the next couple of years and set CASA on a trajectory for further growth in the future. This is one of the priorities of His Eminence Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan.
The Director of CASA will determine and implement a a strategy for several fundraising methodologies: direct mail (concentrating on donor acquisition), face-to-face solicitations of high-end ($1,000-$49,999) annual gifts, cultivation events, and parish offertories. The Director will supervise the engagement and solicitation plans for key prospects and work effectively with parish priests to ensure that fundraising in the parishes is accomplished successfully.
This position will be a member of the senior development team which, in addition to the Executive Director of Development, includes the Chief of Staff, the Director of Major Campaigns and Operations, and the Director of Donor Relations. This position will manage a talented team of 15+ staff.
The Director of CASA will be innovative, creative, and visionary, as well as a highly-accomplished annual campaign/major gift fundraiser with a strong track record in data analytics, consistently meeting deadlines, and managing a staff of professional fundraisers. S/he will need to have the ability to work in a fast-paced, complex organizational structure. The successful candidate will need to have a heart for God’s call in their life and a genuine passion for the mission of the Catholic Church.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and put into action a strategic fundraising plan to raise $20+ million through the Appeal in nearly 300 parishes throughout the Archdiocese, including, themes for appeals and content of all collateral materials, as well as solicitation strategies for the Appeal’s top donors in coordination with the Director of Donor Relations.
- Create and oversee a pastor engagement plan at the parish-level to offer support, partner with and garner feedback from parish priests.
- Oversee staff portfolios of key prospects, and ensure that cultivation, solicitation and stewardship visits with the annual fund’s top prospects are made each month.
- Supervise and mentor a team of 15+, conduct semi-annual performance evaluations, and set specific goals for each member of the team.
- In conjunction with the Director of Major Campaigns and Operations, shape, align, and calendarize the message in fundraising communications and direct mail pieces.
- Oversee regular tracking and analysis of all fundraising progress and report the results regularly.
- Manage the CASA Leadership Committee and the Pastors Advisory Council.
- Oversee stewardship and recognition of annual fund donors.
- Develop and manage the annual CASA budget of approximately $2-$3 million.
- Ensure that the Appeal’s communications and branding are attractively and adequately conveyed through print, web content, and social media.
- Oversee the strategy and implementation of 6-9 donor cultivation events a year including one-on-one breakfasts, regional campaign kick-off events, and major donor receptions.
